Neuralink implanted a wireless chip in the brain
Paralyzed and blind people find it difficult to perform daily tasks. For those people, Elon Musk's company Neuralink began the difficult task of making wireless computer chips. The company started this work from 2016. Finally, they have implanted such a chip in the human brain for the first time.
On January 28, 2024, this chip was successfully implanted in the brain of a person in the United States. However, the company has not disclosed the name and identity of the person due to confidentiality. Musk confirmed this information on social media X on January 29, 2024.
Musk said in X Post, "The initial results are quite good. The patient's neurons are spiking or the nerve is responding. The patient is recovering. Elaborating on this, he said, it can be called teletherapy. Because by placing this wireless chip in the brain, the concerned person can control his phone or computer. In this case, he does not have to use his hands and feet. Just think about it.
In September last year, the US Food and Drug Administration approved Neuraling to implant several copies of the chip in human brains. Chips were implanted in monkeys' brains before humans were successfully implanted. But this method is not new. Before this, in 2004, another US neurotechnology company, Blackrock Neurotech, implanted a chip in the human brain. Apart from Neuroling, few other companies are engaged in making such chips.
