The murder of Nepal's royal family is still shrouded in mystery

The brutal killing of the Nepalese royal family brought the whole world to a standstill. 1 June 2001. Nepal's 10th King Birendra Birvikram Shah Dev was tragically murdered in his own palace. The killers did not stop at killing him. Six other members of the royal family including Queen Aishwarya, Prince Nirajan, Princess Shruti Rajyalakshmi and brother Dhirendra were murdered one by one. Even after such a big murder, the killers got away. Who killed the king - this question has not yet been answered. King Birendra Birvikram of Nepal lived in the Narayanhiti Palace in the capital Kathmandu. The palace is now a museum. An inquiry committee was formed after this murder. But many are not satisfied with their investigation. Those who believe that someone else in the royal family is involved in this murder cannot show any solid evidence. King Birendra was very popular in Nepal. The room where the king was killed has a history of bullet wounds. In front of it, in an open field surrounded by green grass, the prince and the princess were killed. Some were killed and the bodies were thrown into the drain of the palace. Yuvraj Dipendra is found inside that drain. The history of their bullet wounds is written on that green square. Those who were killed that day were - King Virendra Viravikram Shah Dev, Queen Aishwarya Rajyalakshmi Rana Shah Dev, Prince Dipendra Viravikram Shah Dev, Princess Nirjan, Princess Shruti Rajyalakshmi, King's younger brother Dhirendra Viravikram Shah Dev, King's sisters Shanti and Sharda, Sharda's Swami Kumar Khadga and Raja's cousin Jayanthi. King Virendra's sister Shobha, Princess Shruti's husband Kumar Gorakh, King's brother Gyanendra's wife Kamal and son Parash and King's cousin Ketaki Chester were injured. Who was blamed for the murder- King Virendra's son Dipendra was also shot. A comatose Dipendra was proclaimed king after Virendra's death. But he died four days later. Then Virendra's only surviving brother Gyanendra Viravikram Shah Dev sat on the throne. According to the history review, after the death of King Mahendra Birvikram Shah Dev in 1972, Birendra ascended the throne of Nepal. Virendra ruled Nepal for almost 29 years until the day of his assassination on June 1, 2001. A two-member committee comprising Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Keshav Prasad Upadhyay and Speaker of the House of Representatives Taranath Ranabhat was formed to investigate the murder of Raja. After the incomplete investigation, the committee said that Yuvraj Dipendra, enraged by the complications of the marriage, shot and killed his parents, siblings, uncles and aunts with a machine gun in a drunken state at the dinner party of the palace that night and later tried to commit suicide by shooting himself. He also died in hospital four days later. While studying in England, Yuvraj Dipendra fell in love with Rana Divani. Mother Rani Aishwarya disapproves when the family is told to marry her. There was dissatisfaction in the royal family. However, most of the people and political leaders of Nepal could not accept this comment. Many say that Gyanendra killed Virendra and his family to become king. There is no end to such complaints. But the last thing is - the secret behind this Nepal tragedy has not been revealed even today.

Some wanted to send them into exile, some wanted to kill them. The objective is one, that the dictatorship can never rise again. But later they were sent to Yekaterinburg. It was the worst shelter in Russia at the time. To the people where the tsars were eyesores. The Tsar's family was allowed to live in a large house called 'Ipatiev House'.
